Why did we create LGX?
Sustainable finance has grown exponentially since world leaders committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement in 2015. There is an increased sense of urgency associated with the climate crisis across the world, and finance needs to be part of the solution to this global challenge. LGX is part of our answer and contribution to the sustainability challenges of the future. Our goal is to transform finance and help make it sustainable by default.

LGX Platform
Which sustainable securities are displayed on LGX?
LGX has different sections dedicated to different sustainable securities. The window that your security is displayed on depends on the nature of your financial instrument and the sustainability goals that it contributes to. Green bonds contribute to environmental benefits, social bonds have a positive social impact, while sustainability bonds support a mix of green and social outcomes and so have their own dedicated window on LGX. Issuers of sustainability-linked bonds and ESG or impact funds also benefit from being displayed on respective LGX windows to capture the attention of the international investment community at LGX.
How to be displayed on LGX
To display a security on our platform, you must first list your security at LuxSE. Once the listing process has been completed, your security will be analysed to confirm that it meets the eligibility criteria for inclusion on LGX. During this process, you need to provide the required documentation, including an external review, and commit to ongoing post-issuance reporting obligations.

How is transparency ensured on LGX?
We believe that transparency and harmonisation are crucial to propelling the sustainable finance market. This is why we ensure that all instruments and issuers displayed on our platform are aligned with a recognised international standard, framework, taxonomy, methodology or label, and comply with stringent LGX eligibility criteria.
Steps to join LGX
Listing at LuxSE
Before joining LGX, you must first list your security on one of LuxSE’s internationally recognised markets or on the Securities Official List (LuxSE SOL).
Security Classification
Next, you must classify your instrument in line with ICMA Principles or similarly recognised standard for sustainable securities.
Transparency & Disclosure
You are then required to disclose detailed information about the use of proceeds or investment strategy of your security. If you are an issuer of a sustainable bond, you must also provide a mandatory external review report.
Ongoing Post-Issuance Reporting
To ensure transparency, issuers of a GSSS bond must commit to carrying out ongoing reporting, allowing investors to verify that you deliver on your commitments.
